Our Purpose

Every person in the world should be able to pursue the dream of a better life. The One5 Foundation works to provide opportunities for people living in extreme poverty to develop the aspects of their lives that can help them pursue goals beyond their day-to-day struggle for survival. We build hope on a foundation of health.

Our Mission

One5 removes the blinders of poverty and disease so people can see a future for themselves. One5 offers the tools for individuals to help themselves, their families and their communities. We work to improve people's health, so they can pursue an education, begin an occupation, work with others in their communities, develop as leaders and begin to enrich their own lives and those of others through business enterprise and finally, spiritual growth. We start with the most vulnerable humans on earth: orphan children.

Our Approach

The One5 Foundation was founded by Dan Tasset as the philanthropic outreach of his businesses in Nueterra Holdings. One5 seeks to understand the causes of poverty in specific communities in order to create a singular strategy - a differential diagnosis - to combat it there.

We create a comprehensive and inclusive “map” to analyze the existing condition of a community. From that we project an evolutionary plan to assist individuals and the community at-large.

The individual is an integral part of the social/cultural matrix. The seeds of progressive growth lie both with the individual and the group. We believe that conditions in an entire country can be transformed in a single generation by following this integral approach.

Our Leaders

Dan Tasset | David Miller

Dan Tasset
Founder

Dan is an entrepreneur who believes in giving back in a big way that goes beyond just simply writing a check. He believes that building leaders for tomorrow’s successful communities will help end extreme poverty. And he has a plan to make that happen. Founder of Nueterra Holdings, Dan established the One5 Foundation to lift up people living in poverty so they can succeed educationally, occupationally, relationally, financially and spiritually. In turn, they will become leaders and enrich their communities and countries.

Growing from Dan’s vision, One5 is working to become a leader in building successful communities throughout the world, beginning with those in the most poverty stricken areas. Dan and One5 believe that by understanding the causes of extreme poverty in specific communities and countries, along with a differential diagnosis and subsequent development strategy, a country can make significant positive changes in a single generation.

Since 1989, Dan has been in the business of working with physicians to develop surgery centers and surgical hospitals. His experience as a CPA providing professional and consulting services to physicians gave him real-world insights about the unique business needs of doctors, and inspired him to start Nueterra. And, in his approach to every project, he never forgets the basic mission of his company: to empower physicians. Because Nueterra is a private company, Dan can devote his time to providing strategic direction, as well as motivational leadership and support to the management team. However, he doesn't believe in ivory towers. To keep attune with the challenges and aspirations of health care providers, Dan always makes time to visit with Nueterra's physician partners and those considering working with his Company. Dan's expertise in the field is well recognized, and he is frequently sought out as a speaker on the current state and future direction of physician sponsored ambulatory care.
