VOlunteer
Thank you for your interest in helping One5 with disaster relief in Haiti!
There are lots of ways to help ... both at home and in Haiti.
If you want to volunteer to be on a team going to Haiti, send complete contact information to info@one5.org and put "volunteer" in the subject line. Include your name (as it is on your passport), home address, cell phone, email address, and skillset (e.g. RN, MD/specialty, construction, or layperson). No special skills are required - it just helps us build effective teams. Please indicate if you have previous experience with disaster relief, mission work, or working overseas; and if you speak French or Creole. Include the dates you are available. Fax a copy of the picture page of your passport to 913-387-0832. Ensure that your passport is up to date (expiration date not more than 60 days out) and you have the appropriate immunization. http://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/haiti.aspx
We are currently focused on rotating surgical and trauma teams to Haiti every week to 10 days. We anticipate non-medical volunteers will be needed in the near future and are compiling a list which we will draw from later.
If you are interested in helping us from home, you can:
- raise awareness by sharing information about One5 with your family, friends, coworkers and social networks
- raise funds by distributing flyers or holding fundraisers
- solicit donations of medical supplies from local hospitals, doctors, and medical supply vendors (supply list)
